Motul 8100 X-max is a 100% synthetic engine oil formulated to satisfy API SN and ACEA A3/B4 standards. The API SN standard requires superior cleanliness and protection against oxidation, wear, and deposits compared to the previous SM standard. The ACEA B4 standard requires extreme detergents and dispersants to combat viscosity increase from soot in Direct Injection diesel engines. By meeting or exceeding both of those standards, Motul 8100 X-cess also carries approvals from BMW (LL-01*), Mercedes-Benz (229.5**), Porsche (A40***), and VW (502 00 – 505 00*).
X-max 0W-40 was specifically developed for high-power modern cars, including gasoline, diesel, LP, and CNG fuels; direct and indirect injection; turbocharged and normally-aspirated.
* Does not meet BMW LL-04 or VW 505 01 specifications.
** Applies to all Mercedes Gasoline engines (including AMG but not SLR) and Diesel engines (without DPF filters).
** Does not meet Porsche C30 specifications for Cayenne V6 and Diesel engines.
